Converting from Laser to GPS

It is a logical progression to eventually convert from using laser systems to GPS systems for land forming. Laser systems can be very accurate but are vulnerable to dust, fog, heat, and precipitation. Even a subtle amount of vibration or wind at the base station of a laser system can result in substantial error. They also have limited range and functionality.

GPS systems, on the other hand, are resistant to environmental conditions like fog & dust. GPS systems have a greater base station range of up to 5 times the working range of a laser survey base. This enables operators to work continuously without the need to constantly stop, move, and reset bases.
